How
can I participate? |
| You
can participate by agreeing to be a HOST, a FACILITATOR,
a DINNER GUEST or a SPONSOR. Hosts provide the location and the
food for the dinner. Facilitators lead the process. Guests attend
and participate. Sponsors provide donations of food, services
or money to help the event reach more people. |

What
is the deadline for participating? |
| We
request that interested participants register by midnight, January
11th, 2006. |

Where
is Dallas Dinner Table held? |
Dinners
involving 10 people per table will be held simultaneously throughout
the city in various venues and restaurants on January 15, 2007,
the Martin Luther King Jr. National Holiday. During
the registration process, participants are asked to select a
dinner location. Participants are asked to arrive at
6:00 p.m. and the event should end around 9:30 p.m. |

should attend? |
| Anyone
who is interested in exploring ideas about race and participating
in thought-provoking group discussion should register for Dallas
Dinner Table. |

What
are the participants responsibilities? |
| Participants
select a dinner table at a venue of their choosing. The evening
includes an icebreaker, dinner, and discussions centered on questions
that the participants select and provide a response. The questions
focus on values, beliefs, fears, needs and goals. Each participant
will have several minutes to share thoughts and reactions, with
limited inquiry from other participants. |

you should bring |
|
Participants
need only to bring an open mind and willingness to share personal
experiences. Trained facilitators will lend structure to the
evening and utilize established techniques designed to minimize
debate and maximize understanding among people representing
different backgrounds and cultures.
